Adventure to the Great Salt Lake

Yesterday my friend Taylor and I had a free afternoon with no homework and no plans so we decided to go see the Great Salt Lake. Both of us had been deprived in our childhoods of ever seeing it and we thought since we were living in a city named after it we might as well see what it looked like. It took us almost an hour to get there because we had absolutely no idea where it was. We got off on a road called Satlair and pulled up to a place that looked like the Sultan's palace. It was really run down and I don't know the last time people had actually gone there. We decided that is was the perfect set for a horror movie and got out of there. Then we pulled up to the marina and got out to behold the Great Salt Lake. It reeked, It was all one color, and no one was in it. We took a picture and got back in the car and left.

Hey Emmie,
Your Aunts, including your Mom have all gone for a float in the Great Salt Lake ~ so much salt you naturally float. It is one of my great memories of summers in SLC with Nanny. I hope you get to experience it sometime-you'll be better for it.
I also saw a Howard Jones concert at Saltair (Sultan Palace) many moons ago--ahhh good times.
Love you.

Poor deprived baby! Actually you have also floated in the Great Salt Lake as a wee child--we didn't go back--pretty yucky! Glad you didn't fall in--(but you would have floated! It has more salt than any ocean!!!)
